Terms
of Use
For this
tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro ~ download
a trial version.
Eye
Candy 4000 ~ the demo version will not work for this.
A fat font, with a single outline ~ I will be using Bauhaus93 but will not offer the
file for download because I can not verify if it is a freeware
font.
Open a new
image:
600 x 200 pixels
Transparent
16.7 Million colors
File >
Save as > partytext.pspimage
Be sure to
hit your save button on a regular basis!
Set the
foreground style box to solid fill with a bright color, I am
using #B93FD3.
Set your background style box to solid fill with white.
Select
your text tool.
Click in
your image.
These are
the settings I used:
Bauhaus93
Bold
Size 72
Vector selected
Antialias checked
Line width 3
I typed
Party Time.
Once the
text is placed grab the corner of the formation box and pull the
text out to fill the image better.
Objects
> Align > Center in Canvas.

In your
layer palette right click on the vector layer and convert to
raster.
Right
click on this layer again and rename it "1".
Selections
> Select all.
Selections
> Float.
*In some
versions of PSP you will need to defloat your selection before
doing the next step.
Selections
> Modify > Contract > 3 > ok.
Duplicate
your original layer twice. Rename each layer -
"2" and "3".
Activate
the 1 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
these settings:
Drop size 10.0
Coverage 80
Edge Darkening 0
Opacity 100
Tinting 0
Refraction 0
Liquid color a bright blue, I am using #4159D3
Round drops checked
On the lighting tab -
Highlight brightness & size 0
Apply
filter.
Activate
the 2 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.
Activate
the 3 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.

Activate
layer 1.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
change these settings:
Drop size 8.0
Liquid color a bright green, I am using #41D348
Hit the random seed button for good measure
Apply
filter.
Activate
the 2 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.
Activate
the 3 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.

Activate
layer 1.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
change these settings:
Drop size 6.0
Liquid color a bright yellow, I am using #FAE534
Hit the random seed button for good measure
Apply
filter.
Activate
the 2 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.
Activate
the 3 layer.
Effects
> Plug-in filters > Eye Candy 4000 > Water Drops >
same settings but this time click the random seed button.
Selections
> Select none.
File >
Jasc Products > Animation Shop.
In PSP,
Activate the 1 layer.
Edit >
Copy.
In
Animation Shop (AS), Edit > Paste > As a new animation.
In PSP,
activate the 2 layer.
Edit >
Copy.
In AS,
Edit > Paste > After current frame.
In PSP,
activate the 3 layer.
Edit >
Copy.
In AS,
Edit > Paste > After current frame.
Edit >
Select all.
Animation
> Frame properties > Display time > 25 > ok.
View >
Animation.
Play with
the frame timing if you wish and then save your text!
